i recently bought a test pipe and i was wondering if a heat shiled is needed. my old one that was around my cat is cracked all over and pretty much useless. if one is needed do you guys have any suggestions where i could pick one up at. do you think like midas or a place like that would have one?

Don't worry about the heat shield, worry about how loud it will be. Seriously, heat shield won't be a problem. ~brent

The reason why a heatshield is used on a catalytic converter is because when the converter lights off it gets very very hot.
The test pipe won't have that problem.
